Our History
Founded by Ned “Red Dog” Graham, Redline BMW has a rich history that spans several decades and is deeply rooted in a passion for BMW vehicles and exceptional service. The journey began in the mid-1960s when Ned opened a small gas station in Kalamazoo, Michigan. In pursuit of his automotive dreams, Ned and his family later relocated to Florida in the late 1960s. There, he embarked on a unique venture as a mobile auto parts salesman, known as a “wagon jobber,” traveling from one shop to another, providing essential parts to local repair shops.
In 1976, Ned’s entrepreneurial spirit led to the establishment of Redline Imported Parts, an auto parts business that marked the initial steps toward what would become Redline BMW. During this period, a young Charles “Rennie” Bryant joined the ranks of Redline. Rennie, a true BMW enthusiast who owned a 1968 BMW 1600 since high school, quickly gained a reputation as the go-to guy for all things BMW in the local community. Their knowledge and passion set the stage for the next chapter.
The year 1982 witnessed the birth of Redline BMW Performance, located on 15th Street in Pompano Beach, Florida. With their shared expertise and a shared commitment to exceptional service, the shop transformed into a fully equipped auto repair facility. Racing became a cornerstone of the shop’s identity, and the team’s fervor led to building and racing a BMW 2002 in IMSA and SCCA events. This dedication even extended to participating in both the inaugural Miami Grand Prix, as well as, the12 Hours of Sebring in 1983. Finishing Sebring 30th overall, 11th in class, and the only BMW to cross the finish line that year.
In 1994, Redline BMW found its current home, solidifying its position as a respected institution in the BMW community. Today, Red Dog’s legacy lives on as his two sons and grandson, along with Rennie, continue to steer the ship. With eight service bays and a team of five skilled technicians, the shop combines decades of experience, state-of-the-art equipment, and an unwavering commitment to customer satisfaction.
